Getting your brains bashed in and playing poker seems to pay well.

joey chestnut is a god

deserves every red cent

Poker and Eating are not sports in my mind.. Sorry but eating is a requirement and putting down a card is barely a effort..

Poker is a strategy game that requires statistical luck.. Depending on which luck you have, good or bad, you win or lose..

Amazing that darts makes so much more than pool (billiards)! I would have thought it to be the other way around.

Whoa. I was surprised by a couple of things.

1) Look at the difference in pay for the top paid male and female surfer. It looks like it was the same competition, but waaaaaay different prize totals.

2) I guess I am surprised that baseball gets paid more than basketball. I mean, I guess Kobe can make due with his meager 25 million dollar salary.

3) I don't think it is worth being a sled dog racer. Those working conditions must be tough. Not to mention that every time I think of sled dog racing, I think of that children's book, Stone Fox where the poor dog's heart explodes at the end of the race. 50,000 isn't worth a dog exploding.

I think that goes by the sponsorship they can get.. Hence if they can get enough money thrown in, the big prize gets bigger.

Well for Hockey it's even worse and more players suffer career ending injuries more often. Richards is making 12 million because that's all the team and league can support under the salary cap. To be quite honest some of those players would make money money boxing...
