I think I have figured out exactly how I'm going to do this. I parked my car in a way that I can sit in it and shoot them feeding at the feeder that's away from the window. They are very timid for some reason so these shots took me about an hour to get. It was raining at the time and because of that all were shot at either 1/400 or 1/500 sec. & 1600 ISO. I couldn't use the flash because that and the lens took up too much space to get a clear shot. I can't wait until the sun comes out. They are cropped quite a bit as well.

I resized them to a very small file size so with any luck those with dial-up will be able to see them as well.

Thanks for looking.

That hummingbird in the last picture looks fuzzy. I like it. :)
Thanks. He's all puffed up trying to keep warm. It was raining, a bit windy and quite cool. They don't have a lot of protection. It is a bit out of focus though and combined with a high ISO doesn't help.

Rufous hummingbirds? Nice pics!
Thanks... And now you know what we have. I never did get around to looking it up. Thanks for that as well. I gave my sister a feeder last Wed. and the same species are at it all day now. She lives about a mile or so down the road so I assume they must be all over the place here.
