How do I get rid of some of the processes that my computer runs and how do I know which ones to get rid of. HELP! I am running so many of them and I don't think they are all neeeded, plus i don't want to pay for one of those programs.

If the process has some kind of a conspicuous name and is under the category of "User Name", then most likely - you don't need.

Don't fall for all their crap, just do the PC tune up. This will show you some info about the processes you have running so you can decide whether or not you want them to run.

I have this one site bookmarked on my laptop that was awesome about fixing virus;s and going step by step.. they would tell me what processes where bad, ect. BUT.. i gave the laptop to heather, and right now I am trying to move my files from the laptop to the new computer.. once i get to it, I will get the site address and post it.

The only thing you need to be aware of is that they are trying to make money but you don't need to buy anything to use their free stuff.

also be sure to check;

start>run>regedit

look under:

my computer\hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\

delete associated starup registry entries:
