I just saw this (again) on dvd.

Great flick. (an even better book!) Gregory Peck was brilliant.

I used to get distracted when they started talking about "bustin' up a chifforobe". My mind would wander away, wondering what the hell is a chifforobe? Until I finally looked it up:

chif•fo•robe n. Chiefly Southern U.S.
A tall piece of furniture typically having drawers on one side and space for hanging clothes on the other.

If I ever have a son, I think I'll name him Atticus.

Tequila Mockingbird (sorry, had to be said)

I agree, great film (and the book was even better). I first saw the film when I was about 8, and I was so enamored by the film that I immediately dubbed two of my teddy bears, Atticus Finch, and Boo Radley...both of which I still have to this day.

Gregory Peck's portrayal of Atticus Finch was sublime, and not to mention Robert Duvall's breakout performance as Boo Radley.
