Hate to be a bubble burster, but if it was time travel and she did have a cell phone, there were no cell towers and would be no service so talking on it would be pointless. Besides, who would she talk to?

Back in those days, they had something called an ear box for the hard of hearing. I think that was the first hearing aide.

I said the same thing when I first saw the video.

Though, it could be a short-range radio type thing that looks like a cell phone... if there were more than one of them.

That's what one of the comments on the link said when I went back and read it. I googled time travel and came across a few interesting stories. One from the 1950s about a guy just appearing in the middle of traffic. All of his identification pointed towards him being from the 1870s and turns out this guy just disappeared during that time and no one ever found him.

Well, if she's from the future then she's probably from the future of now (because we can't time travel right now). Perhaps in the future they have cell phones that don't need towers and reception as we know it. She's probably calling her superiors to report. :D

Perhaps we can time travel now, its just we wouldnt know if anyone has done it, as they would create an alternate timeline that exists outside ours.

I always told myself that I would invent time travel in the future, and to save myself the headache of working out how to do it, I would just send the instructions back in time when Ive done it to a little box under my bed.. Im still bloody waiting for it too turn up :thumbup

Maybe she was a little loopy and was acting out a telephone conversation she had earlier. Or like MA said maybe she just had her hand by her face and we're conditioned to think phone.

It's interesting that people jump right to time travel. Even if she had some kind of portable radio, time travel is not the best explanation considering time travel is just a fiction somebody dreamed up. A better explanation would be some inventor was 30 years ahead of his time and for some reason chose not to go public.
