Proposition 19 is on the California ballot, making it legal under State law for any persons over the age of 21 to possess, cultivate, or transport marijuana for personal use. Will also permit local governments to regulate and tax commercial production, distribution, and sale of marijuana.

If this Prop passes as predicted it will, hopefully other states will follow suit. Federal law still will make it illegal, but this "war on drugs" needs to end

I agree wholeheartedly and will definitely be voting yes on it. Though all my vote will really do is cancel my dad's out. :24: I can understand why he's voting no on it though, since he's a doctor and is opposed to all forms of smoking.

We are in a very liberal state with a lot of support behind this proposition.
We are a bankrupt state, and taxing this product will get us out of debt so fast, and a lot of people notice that

I really doubt that taxing pot is going to get us out of debt very quickly. We need to cut spending and social programs before we'll get out of debt. I think there's probably a 75% chance right now that it passes. The last polls for it I saw had it at 50% to 40% with 10% undecided.

There is a huge amount of money that would be involved if you not only weigh the cost savings to not go after pot users but also tax the selling of it like booze

I am gonna predict that the naysayers have some money saved up and the reports in the last week about not reducing crime etc is gonna be shoved down your throats

Having said that I hope it passes. This would be about the only rational thing that came out of CA in the last 40 years

I don't give a damn about the money. No government in the United States has any business presuming to protect adults from themselves.

good luck with that one though

the sheep want somebody to protect us against ourselves

they don't realize the govt is the last one that should judge

we used to have neighborhoods that did this.

IMO

we are fucked :(

This war on drugs shit makes me laugh, the government has lost it pathetically, hence why I can buy illegal drugs easier that legal ones. Best thing any government can do is legalise it and bring in a shit load of tax on it.

The newest SurveyUSA poll that came out today has it at 48-44. Unfortunately the chances of it passing are getting slimmer as opposition support is growing and proponent support is stagnant under 50%.

I hope all the supporters actually make it to the polls
