There is one letter that supposedly revealed his identity, but the name was written in ciphers that were never cracked. I attempted it, but all I got was "Weedeseherewh".

So, Ashlie's the only one who can so far crack the ciphers I made, maybe she can crack this one, or somebody else can. Again, this isn't one I made, it's a real letter from the Zodiac himself. Anyone think they can reveal his identity?

This is another version of the letter, closer and more clear.

You just guessed, didn't you? The killings claimed by the Zodiac started in 1966, and ended in about 1978(This was when his last letter was sent). This means he eluded the SFPD for about 12 years. Now, judging by the descriptions of the Zodiac, he would seem to be about...I'd say in his 30's when he started his murders in 1966. So, if he was 30 in 1966, 12 years later he would be 42. It's been 29 years since he disappeared in 1978, so if he was about 42 in 1978, he'd be about 71 now. He could easily still be alive. Even if he was in his 40's(Doubtful though), he'd only be about 80-something now. The Zodiac was never captured, identified, and none of the cases have been solved to this day, so he could easily be alive and resurface one day, or be captured one day. But by the looks of his cleverness and evading the SFPD, or any police department for that matter, for over 41 years, I doubt they'll ever catch him. And if they do, he'll probably be long dead by the time they find out who the Zodiac is.

Heh, the Zodiac... Interesting mystery. I saw this thing on the shootings a while back on the Discovery or History Channel. I don't think they ever caught him? But I think they're making a movie, and its a great movie idea. I hope they don't butcher it up. Well, just writing about it gives me the chills... Kinda creepy, really. The ideas of intelligent killers is not a very pleasing one. I mean, anyone can take a chainsaw and become a killer. But when you prepare a disguise, a plan, a legacy, then toy with the police and the common people, then ultimately get away with it, there's some reason to be worried.

Yeah, he did get away. Again, like I said before, he is STILL unknown, and still evading them. These days people have lost the clever ideas and genius to become what he was. Even worse is thinking that he could still be out there today.
