Crap... the sign I left on my door telling them to leave it there is wrong. I thought it was being shipped UPS, but instead it's coming FedEx. So the sign tells the UPS guy to leave it at the door. :24:

Which means that I'm going to have to wait until after 530 tonight to pick it up... rather than leaving work early and getting started. :D

My eMachine is decent. Though Win7 likes to cease up on me and not respond at times

Nice one Retro. I've just ordered a cheap and cheerful one for a price mistake. I don't think they'll honour it though. Can but try. :)

It's not the size of the drive that's important, it's the I/O speed and lack of mechanical parts. A computer with Windows (or whatever OS) on an SSD is looking at about a 10-15 second boot time.. as compared to however the hell long it'd take with a standard drive. Also, it's flash memory based, so there is no spin-up time, there's no mechanical parts that can break down (which is a common cause of HDD failure).

If you're interested in more details...

I'm currently running two other hard drives in my system... a 1TB drive, and a 750GB drive. This one will only be for my OS and highly used applications/games.

wow.... Photoshop opens up in about 5 seconds now, rather than the 20-30 it took before. O.O

Just you wait until Windows 7 SP1, I had accidentally installed the RC version....wow what speed it was

Don't said to Ed It is faster than the Mac:thumbup
