There is something really wrong with any church trying to make its leader a saint when that head of church overlooked the sexual abuse of its priests.
Pope John Paul to become a saint, I don't think so.
He DID nothing as children were abused by his priests. :mad

whoa there,padner!!!...he is guilty of the charges, but this man was in the vault with the money when the cops arrived..The Cardinals who pushed these priests around should not be allowed to walk under the radar. My own Cardinal here in Massachusetts allowed priests to get transferred and took a post in Rome and washed his hands on the whole deal. He passed the problem onto his next in charge. It is a worldwide problem and to be honest not over yet. The abuse allegations go back so far that it is appalling and he should not take the rap for all of this.

True. The Cardinals shouldn't be eligible for sainthood either. And the church should stop the ridiculous rule that priests can't get married. Then they would get some sexually healthy men in those positions.

All any state or country would need do to end the uncertainty of who is culpable, or not, for protecting pedophiles, is to lay a charge. If no citizen and or country is willing to do so, strictly out of fear, then what does that tell us about the whole world.

Personally, in a way, I wish I was a victim, not that I do not pity them, then I could lay a charge myself.

Let us pray that at least one victim out there has what it takes to push their government to act against what seems like an institutionalized protection of criminal pedophiles.

Yes. Cash for sex or other crimes is quite immoral if no other penalty is put in place. Those are called religious indulgences and if secular governments put up with it then they are as culpable for the next instance of pedophilia as the pedophile.

Where TF is the law?

well, think of it this way, someone wanting to sue the church I think you would have to get jurists who are not religious...(that in itself would be difficult). Biases for or against the church in jury selection is key. Plus are you going to put a priest on the stand? and you really think they are going to admit to things in their past? doubt it...can they even remember that far back...doubt it...
