this abortion thing

i've seen many viewpoints on this..........and my view is that it should be the parents choice(not that i'd ever abort a healthy baby)

now i have a question........some here have said it should be banned because the fetus is alive,fair point.....but....go a little deeper......would the people who have this view like to see condoms and contraceptive pills banned?.......after all the sperm swims to get to the egg making it a living thing.....is this also,as you say.....murder?

my question is how anybody can be against abortion except in the case of rape. That is major league hypocritical because pro life is supposed to be about saving an innocent "baby". Their term and not mine.
They mysteriously all of a sudden change that stance when a woman is raped and then it is about the woman. go figure

I don't know if I believe that, but I guess it makes sense. The whole purpose of sperm and eggs is to create children and if you aren't, then why bother having sex? I know a lot of religions don't do the contraceptive thing for that reason. I guess it's one of those que sera, sera type deals.

In rape cases- there is the possibility of the child being neglected and/ or abused by the mother- the child takes the blame for the rapist. I can see that. But you also have to imagine- this horrible horrible thing happened to you and you have to carry a reminder around for at least nine months? And have to deal with mood swings, hormones, bodily changes that can never be reversed... No thank you!

Well if one allows for abortion based on posibilities of neglect or abuse then one could say the same for a poor woman it seems.

Seems also like a woman that gets an unwanted pregnancy could have the same issues with it being a horrible reminder of that night not being having protected sex and the moods swings etc.

Pro life is about the unprotected fetus and not about the mother. So the fetus should be protected at all cost as it is not its fault how it was conceived.

I think if you are mature enough to "poke or be poked" then you can deal with the consequences. I think if it will kill the mother and/or child, a decision needs to be made. I personally would never. I couldn't live with myself. Too many what ifs

Yeah... already went there with that whole consequences nonsense. Just because it can happen, doesn't mean it should.

And, you'd really be surprised what you would do in any given situation. I think it's really easy for other people to judge and say "I would never"... but when actually put in a situation, things change.

Believe me, I've said many nevers, and it just doesn't work out that way.

It's something I have thought long and hard about. I'm on the pill, but we don't use condoms, so we aren't being as safe as we could be. I couldn't do it. I wouldn't do it. I've had scares, I've thought about it, we've talked about- he'd want me to get one, but I know I won't ever.

I can't blame anyone for doing it. No one ever knows anyone else's true reasoning for anything. I think it takes a very strong person to decided to go through with it and then carry on with their lives. I think part of the reason I couldn't do it is because that would just tear me all to pieces.

I don't know. It's one of those things where there's just no clear answer.
