I was just thinking that I should replace my Shox since I got my income tax refund. I'm used to keeping a pair of sneakers for years, but since I've started putting a hell of a lot more miles on them, they wear out a lot quicker.

Asics traditionally do good athletics trainers. They've always been aimed at runners.

I don't know what's good for gym work. My trainers are all adidas, but I use them for football, so I'm more interested in the shape of the instep, tongue and the narrowness of fit.

Are you referring to what they call cross trainers here ?

You can get all sorts of quality at any price range..

I totally live in my runners and usually buy two pairs every year of so.. Either for trail walking or street walking you really have to find the right pair that feel comfortable..

Problem is, 10 years ago you could find a pair, go back a year later and still find the same style..

Now they are obsolete so fast you almost need to find the right pair, go back and buy 3 more pairs to last you a while..

That's what I get most of the time and I like them but I bought a pair of Saucony's the last time and they're pretty comfy.

I'm super picky about my tennis shoes...I'll try on a hundred pair if that's what it takes. I've found that I can't find a decent pair that I like for less than $80...and I almost always end up in Nikes.
