Just curious do you have a solution for "government run by humans"? ;)
You betcha :D

  • Eliminate PAC's
  • Ban Lobbyists
  • Make all elections publicly funded

That will weed out a lot of the rot that are in it for the money. Send us back to what it used to be which was citizen statesmen and not statist, moneygubbing bastards.

There is one govt mandate though I would like to see. Make all children be given inoculations against the liberal swine flu at an early age :D

I'm liberal and I agree with this 100%... well except for the inoculations part... I would change that to where we would educate children against voting against their own self interests later in life, thereby destroying the republican party... an educated voter is a liberal voter. :D

a government run by humanity is ripe for corruption, if not error.

an automated government, i could see happening.

An automated government would be more susceptible to corruption than any other. An automated government would be the ultimate form of democracy which would fail the moment people realize they can vote themselves whatever they want regardless the cost.

Interesting. Could you expand upon that any further? I understand the potential for corruption, but that stems from the human|s creating the system.

and who creates the automation?? ;)

someone or some group of people who:

- are tired of labels
- are tired of parties/politics
- just want shit to get done, without concessions to such and such a group, because shit needs to get done NOW instead of "where's my piece of the money tree?" shit.

people like me.

fuck 'we the people', let's get 'for the people'

You just had to ruin this post. So you'd prefer if all the children became conservative lemmings. ;)

There is an undeniable truth to your statement. Unless you have a specific horse-blinder focus on issues such as 1)antiabortion 2)unrestricted gun ownership 3)religious intolerance 4)inflated unrealistic misguided patriotism 5)manipulate the many to enrich the few, there is absolutely no reason why an average educated citizen would vote Republican. :ninja

You just proved my point why we do not need any liberals :D

FYI............... Term Limits do NOT work. Do I need to school you on that again? And would not be needed if there was equal funding. The House in particular is on a continuous fund raising mode.

I agree with froggy boy on this. I used to be all for term limits at one point, but I have changed my position with the realization that if you enact public financing and remove the PAC's and lobbiests, you wouldn't need to worry about special interests keeping their candidate in office for 40 years. With a leveled playing field and news 24/7 candidates would have to be on the up and up for the most part, and if they fuck up, they'll be out on their ass come next election

The House is a joke with the way they have to start fund raising almost right after the election. I think the point of them being elected every 2 years was to avoid some getting entrenched in office. It has failed because the person that raises the most money usually wins. And that person knows who breads his butter.

Term Limits sounds great and maybe on a federal level it would work but I can assure you it has done nothing be get a lot of idiots and rookies elected here. Keeping in mind that state and local politics is quite different.

Honestly I don't think term limits are a huge problem. Just said it because I thought it was expected. :p Embedded politicians can be bad if they are bad politicians. Term limits would also have the effect of kicking out competent leaders. Changing how people are elected, how the money flows, and how elections are conducted would have a better effect I'm thinking. Starting an election run 2 years prior is total bullshit.

I would even go 6 for Prez and 8 for Senate, but one term only and NO re-elections.

I would do the other stuff first. Then if it did not help go with the shorter terms or term limits. I don't believe it is necessary though if you shorten the election period. How about 2 months and then a primary and then 2 months after you have the election. That is long enough to spout enough bull shit
