This was on another forum I post on and I thought it was a great thread idea. It's kind of empowering to realize that there's a lot more I *don't* miss. ;)

Okay, what I miss:

* Zaxby's chicken fingers and french fries
* Fried pickles w/ ranch
* Chicken wings...oh the chicken wings (I have to cheat and have them sometimes on game day)
* Fried chicken and mashed potatoes
* Not worrying about what kind of disgusting food I was putting in my body (okay, maybe not so much)

What I don't miss:

* Standing in a room of a couple hundred people and realizing I'm the fattest one there
* Trying on jeans only to find that I couldn't find a size big enough to fit me
* Having a headache by the end of the night b/c my uniform shirt was so tight I could barely move
* My feet swelling to twice their normal size (or to the point that the bands on them would leave indentions) after a 12 hour shift
* Being laid up in bed w/ back spasms after walking a mile or standing for more than an hour
* Breathing heavily just from tying my shoes
* Picking out a cute shirt "in my size" only to find that a 3X fits snug now
* Going out w/ my friends and feeling like the guys that come up are just being nice by talking to the fat girl (I'm not kidding when I tell you that my bestfriend is BEAUTIFUL and is often compared to Jennifer Lopez)
* Always wearing a cover-up when going swimming...only shedding it RIGHT BEFORE getting in the water and then being self-conscious about getting back out of the water w/o it
* High blood pressure and a blood sugar that was awful close to getting me diagnosed as diabetic
* Being too embarrassed to go to the gym b/c of my size
* Hating going into dressing rooms and the inevitable "it doesn't fit" walk of shame coming out of there

Oh I could go on and on. LOL

What I miss is social eating and drinking. Booze is usually my trigger to eat badly - while I'm drunk, while I'm drinking and when I'm recovering I want food. Pizza preferably :)

I really miss going out to eat with friends. I still can, but the whole time I'm thinking of the food in front of me or the food I didn't order. Also since I'm on a diet I have to be particular about what and where I eat.

What I like about it - I LIKE being hungry. I LIKE knowing that the food I'm eating is doing good for my body and not bad. I like feeling better after eating something with less sugar and fat. I like not feeling the slump at 3pm that came with eating carb heavy lunches.

I like feeling my bones - I know that's a weird one, but I love laying in bed and feeling my hips, my shoulder bones and collarbones without having to press through layers of fat to do it! I'm not a skeleton - not by far! but I really like feeling my body. lol i'm weird I know!

This one is mean - I like it when other non healthy people tell me "OMG a salad for lunch?! I could never do that!"

I'm weird, too, b/c I love it too. I haven't had collarbones or cheek bones in YEARS. I was looking at a picture the other day and I was like "OMG, I have cheekbones now!!!" LOL

I don't think that's mean at all. It's funny that people have such an aversion to salad. I have ALWAYS loved salad (my dad has a story he LOVES to tell about me begging him to make me a salad at 5 y/o and saying "pretty please" and he replied "with sugar on top?" and I said "no, silly, with ranch dressing!!!" LOL).

What I miss:
-Wendy's, Burger King, and Taco Bell...the holy trinity. (I was an addict, though, it was uncontrollable, and that's why I don't fit it into my life at all)
-Ice cream (I ate so my ice cream with my ex, wow, it was insane)
-Not having to spend my night preparing food for the next day, knowing there's someone in a uniform that will do that when I pull up D: lol

What I don't miss:
-Seeing my reflection anywhere and blushing IMMEDIATELY because I was amorphous.
-Having my weight start with a 2 :p
-Being at JC Penney trying on winter coats and not a SINGLE fucking one of them fitting.
-Knowing there wasn't much I could wear; that I could never wear light colors or a skirt or heels.
-Knowing no guys were ever looking at me, and knowing a lot people probably felt sorry for me
-Tugging on my clothes 24/7 to cover my gut (I still do this, but not as much lol)
-Like Natasha said, being in a room and being the biggest one...always a horrible feeling.
-I had this phantom rib pain that tormented me daily, and it went away when I lost the weight, plus my knees clicked
-Worrying about becoming diabtetic
-Swimming :( I still miss it. I haven't gone swimming in 12 years and it's my number one favorite passtime.

What I look forward to in continued weight loss:
-Actually, maybe, just maybe, feeling.......hmm....slightly sexy???????? Could it happen? We shall see!
-Wearing whatever the figgedy fuck I want. Period. Bam. Suck it. :24:
-Not having bulges, being comfortable with my shape
-Maybe one day being the fittest girl in a room!
-If I get a wedding, maybe looking pretty then

Since I find that the urge to eat goodies pretty much goes away for me after I've stayed away from these unhealthy snacks for a while, I pretty much don't miss anything.

I certainly don't miss being addicted to twinkies, cookies, and cake, however.

I miss Dunkin' Donuts peanut-covered donuts. And that awful horrible V gave me a Dunkin' Donuts gift card for my birthday...but I'm saving it until I move to Massachusetts and I'll use it for breakfast some time. :p

I don't miss only being able to walk maybe a mile before my feet and back were killing me. Now I regularly walk 3, 4, 5 miles like it's nothing. :)

It's not the same but you can make some tasty baked pickles that can satisfy your pickle craving. I have before. I ate at Texas Roadhouse and loved their fried pickles so I had to come up with my own take. I don't really miss anything. It's ok to get a fix once in a while. Just don't over do it.
