I cant believe noone has been keeping a thread like this here...

I must say I didnt really think much of the series when it first came out on TV - i wasnt thrilled and had other interests in my head at the time, but about August of last year i found myself watching these on NETFLIX and about an episode in I WAS HOOKED!

After spending a few nights catching up I was ready to begin watching this on a regular basis and the show continues to deliver awesomeness all-around!

Do any of you people watch it? Has anyone stayed up to date on this? has anyone bought any of the comic books?
I even went on as far as watching the websidoes and i am looking to get the full comic run here in a few days.

I would love to have an on-going thread on the subject where people with the same interest can come in and discuss, theorize and all that good stuff

Who is up for it?

I have watched bits and pieces and I like what I've seen, but I haven't watched enough to know the plotlines or even the main characters. Some of the sound effects gross me out, though, LOL

I am seriously addicted to this TV show... I just got a hold of the first 40 books and the similarities between it and the TV show are interesting!

The actors that were picked are so like the ones in the books! AMC is doing a Black n white re-run and while its milking the same series it makes it that much more awesome!

Has anyone seen the websidoes? Each season has a mini series that focuses on the a particular zombie and it explains how it got there... Pretty cool to be honest and it shines some light on some of the memorable zombies you see in the TV show. you can see them on Youtube or AMC's website.

I started to watch it when it first got aired, the first season was great, the second one was alright and the third I didn't enjoy it that much :l
It's a great show don't get me wrong, the plot is good and so is the story line but I feel like after the first season it went down in quality, maybe I just got bored of it hahaha

Loving the series so far. Well, not really so far since I haven't caught up yet. I'm at the Governor finale almost (ep12), so far it's great. Can't wait to watch the new season!

My husband sat me down and we started watching on Netflix, and I thought he had lost his freakin mind. By the end of the 3rd or 4th episode I was hooked and he was asleep!! It is cheesy sometimes, and some stuff doesn't add up, but I am addicted and I love it!!

I've been trying to get caught up on the series having only watched some episodes here and there. I came across this the other day, which is a great summary that will get you up to speed if you've missed some of the previous episodes and/or don't feel like sitting through the past several seasons to understand what is going on now.

I've read all of the comics. Started out amazing but the formula the writer has (they find a safe place to settle, things are great for awhile, massive horde of zombies or evil people cause trouble, a few characters die, they live on the road for awhile, settle in new safe place, repeat) has gotten old. The TV show seems to be following that formula from the book exactly. The governor will come back, they'll have to leave the prison, a few big characters will die on the road, next season they'll find the new town they settle down in, the next big human bad guy will show up, and so on.

I'm not saying it's a bad series (comic and show both), I'm just sort of bored with it.

If anyone here games you should give the series based on the comic that telltale games made a try. Those games were fantastic.

I like the comics too, although it bothers me a bit that Robert Kirkman put the focus on the living (Rick's group and Negan's group), while the walking dead are being ignored in the last 5 issues or so. The game by Telltale is very well written and I hope they release the sequel as soon as they can. i don't like the show as much as I like the comics, though, because they changed a lot of the plot and the characters, and Rick lost a lot of his personality when compared to his comic book self.

I really like this show, but it feels a little lacking sometimes. It usually has a strong opening and ending to their seasons, but a lot of the shows in the middle of the season tend to drag and there doesn't seems to be any major plot twists. I have strong hopes for this season, though. I know they got rid of the writers of the first season at the end of that season and started with a brand new writing staff last season. I'm hoping that now that they've had a year to get comfortable with the characters they'll be more interesting situations.
