The Sounds of Jupiter

Jupiter has always fascinated me. A huge gaseous planet with no solid surface underneath, just violently rotating rock formations covered with storms that drive winds constantly at over 1000 meters per second.

I found a video on Youtube last night that blew me away. These are apparently electro-magnetic vibrations from the planet turned into audible frequencies. It's so haunting, lonely yet incredibly beautiful. Check it out:

Imagine how horrific the storms of Jupiter must be, and yet how weird this ethereal sound is. Incredible!

I heard nothing, then realized my speakers were off...now listening to it reminds me of being along in a room with a ceiling fan on...and the silence of nothing but that fan...can get your mind wandering...as in now I am thinking of that day...no sounds in the house other than the fan...listening to the creak after the third turn....and listening for the other sounds makes it even more haunting

you should put a decent pair of headphones on and try it... staggering.
 
that was pretty groovy but i can't handle ten minutes of it. when i'm online wireless i can already hear EMF's. wierd noise in stereo. whoopie!

if you aren't already hip to APOD from NASA, i know you'll like it if this turns you on so much.

Likewise, amigo. I've lost count at the amount of times I've listened to this now... man made music can't top it. Space rocks!!!

HAHA I love techno. Now that they are back on my itunes i listen to 666 all the time. badass techno group!
