The origins of Halloween

I live in France at the moment and here Halloween is seen as a British or American tradition. There are French people who will not celebrate it because it is against French culture!

On the other hand from 31st October to 2nd November, the French traditionally celebrate Toussaint or "All Saint's Day". They traditionally visit the graves of dead relatives and put chrysanthemum flowers on their graves or tombs.

I believe that the celebration of Halloween has very ancient roots perhaps sharing a similar origin with the French Toussaint. What do you think?

Hmm both are old traditions halloween origins of pagan celtic celebration of samhain.. and Toussaint was done by roman catholic church to take the attention from the pagan celebration but some of the pegan traditions was brought to Toussaint...i guess with the years have changed

i dont know well about all this anyways
