The Nintendo Wii

Im interested to see what the people of this community think. I've heard people say that the Wii is the best thing to happen to video games as of late and I've heard people its one of the biggest disappointments ever. thoughts?

I've only played it once. It was alright. I can see why people would love it.

Its fun. the free games that come with it like bowling are really fun when you have little get togethers. Gets you up off the chair too.

My personal opinion is that its a great system. It seems that Microsoft and Sony decided to focus on all the serious gamers and Nintendo tried to make everyone happy. Also, It seems that with every new game that comes out there is a new way to use the Wii remote, its really impressive because you feel like your not playing different games the same exact way. its really cool.

:homo: but some of the other games that you have to buy for it are harder to control on the Wii (with the controller) than if you were playing xbox or playstation, etc.
My kids love it though.

Personally I don't like the whole thing of waving your arms about to play games because I prefer computer games to be more relaxing. I also wonder how many household items kids have broken by playing it too enthusiastically. Hey, that's just me though, whatever you enjoy.

yep! Ive noticed that when my kids are golfing or playing softball or bowling, that they swing that contoller WAY too close to the TV. Makes me nervous. Im constantly on them to back up.

The Wii is a fun system geared towards the same people Nintendo has always geared their systems towards, younger kids. I will give them props for trying to bring some more mature games to the system, but as far as pure muscle, and GFx are concerned, the 360 and PS3 have the Wii smashed to pieces. Myself, I'll still with my PS3.

I've played it. Its only good for parties.

I prefer my PC over all.

It's pretty cool, but they don't have all that many good games for it yet. Only games I like for it are Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime: Corruption and Wii Sports (when playing with friends or family). But I'm looking forward to Super Smash Bros. Brawl so freaking much!

I think that the Wii is an awesome gaming system for all ages. Where the 360 and PS3 are more toward the "hardcore" gaming

I have played all three main consoles and while the wii is fun as a party type of game i wasn't all that thrilled with it.


That said, it is the single most popular game system. We have atleast 9 calls a day and that many people coming int he store asking about it.

My 2 yr old little girl loves the baseball one, the boxing one and the tennis one lol

I had my entire family in on a blowing tourney over thanksgiving. definetly brings everyone together.

Ive never played it... My kids are way too interested in ps2 to even think of any other games... although they have an itoy hook up for the ps2 and they seem to enjoy the fact they get to run around and play instead of actually sitting on their butts

They are using the Wii in 'old folks' homes as well. It is getting them active where they otherwise wouldn't be.
