Yeah, I saw the previews for that last night, but to be honest I thought, looks like a crap movie as none of the old actors will be back to play in it...not to mention its gone straight to DVD so it likely didn't do well when they tested it on audiences.I guess if you likes these types of movies, you should check out the new Scorpion King as well; The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior (2008) (V)
I didn't see it at the theaters, I'll be getting it on DVD though... just because Jet Li is in it. The first Mummy movie was pretty awesome... the second though I thought was shithouse.

OMG bag of shit.. dont even wast ur time!!! GOD cheeseyest acting ive seen EVER... jst terrible.. and yettis.. wtf?!?!?
Jet Li is hardly in it. its all CGI
That can be a big problem these days. I thought the first two Mummies were very entertaining and I did not get that fake feeling from overdone CGI although I fully realize there is bunches of it in the first two movies. Today that seems to be a skill to keep the CGI under control,to support the movie, but not take over. Because once it takes over, I loose interest.
The first movie I can currently remember getting the "overdone" feeling was the remake of "The Haunting", a most excellent 60-ish film regarding a haunted house. The remake was so over the top, blech...
Based on this thread and the reviews, I have designated the movie "rental material".
The problem with CGI is it does not age well.
A good example would be the Blade Runner film, that's 25 years old nearly, but still looks fantastic because instead of computer modelling and effects, it chose just little toys and models to do it's special effects.
my bf loves blade runner... LOVES it.. i thot it was ok.. but i agree with u on the CGI thing
