Saw it last night. I'll say only this...

Falling buildings, lava covered islands, sinking planes, and drowning will never stop John Cusack

If you are into silly world ending movies, for sure. The big explosions, falling buildings, and humongous tidal waves would not have impressed me as much if it was on my lousy 32" TV.

I watched so many end of world movies that I want something different but nothing else in the theatre is interesting, I much rather wait for Avatar

Saw the movie and it was a complete and total waste of money. Probably the worst movie I have seen in years.
The effects in the movie were spectacular to be sure but the dialogue and acting was horrible. Lines like "He needs to swim down and release the hydrolics, it's a suicide mission!" Yet Cusack and his son accomplished it... of course

Save your money and wait until it makes it to TV, don't even waste your money on the dvd

I think if people seriously took the Mayan Calender's link to the end of the world seriously, they wouldn't be making Hollywood flicks about it.

Tell me did the end suck?

I often watch these type of films about the world ending, and then feel like I wasted my money, when the ending comes around.

When I went to see Zombieland last month I saw previews for it. i said the effects alone made me want to see but the hype is wearing off.

I think it was far from a waste of money...even though I didn't pay but that is besides the point.

I go to some movies solely to be entertained and to not look into the crappy dialogue, not up to par effects, or humdrum plot lines. 2012 had really crappy and corny lines and the plot was...well...it's called 2012, it doesn't need much else, and the effects were great but the movie was thoroughly entertaining.

If you're going to a movie that was made by the same guy who did Day After Tomorrow and looking for a film you have wasted your money before even sitting your rump in that theater chair.

2012 was entertaining enough, but parts of it were REALLY corny :eek LOL
Woody Harrelson's character (charlie) made me laugh as did the Blonde Russian woman
I would have to say The day after tomorrow is a much much better film. This 2012 tries too hard to impress and I am afraid I found it just OK.

I much prefer New Moon - its excellent from start to finish :D

I enjoyed the film, but really only for the FX, the story was a little corny at times but that provided for some interesting embarrassment as I found myself laughing at scenes that nobody else laughed at. It would look really crappy on a telly.

The biggest problem with the film is that you really need to suspend any scientific understanding that you have. There is very little respect for anything scientific & that kinda pissed me off a little.

Nope, I disagree. If you're going to see it, see it on the big screen. This movie is based on special effects and needs to be viewed big. The bigger the better. I thought it was worth the price of admission but I was just there for the special effects. I think it would be rather disappointing to see it on TV.
