Please post your opinions for the greatest rock and roll songs.

Each era can be represented. 1950s - 1960s - 1970s - 1980s and so forth.

How many at a time? This is going to need to be regulated...
I'll start with five, in no particular order
Kickstart My Heart
Stairway to Heaven
Whole Lotta Love
Shoot to Thrill
Dream On

I'd have to mention Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, its just a work of genius. Then you take their Classics like "We will rock you" and " We are the Champions"the way they have made their way into everyday life especially sporting eventys have to merit their inclusion as some of the greatest songs ever written.

Such a stereotypical topic. And if you don't know the artists for these songs, you're done in this thread :p

Cliche Greatest Rock Songs:
Stairway to Heaven
Purple Haze
Back in Black
Welcome to the Jungle
Random Stevie Ray Vaughn song
etc...

Here are a few less cliche one's that I like:

Pantera - pretty much everything they ever wrote
Guns n Roses - 'Night Train'
Velvet Revolver - 'Slither'
Rush - 'Tom Sawyer'
Tool - 'Lateralus' and 'Ticks and Leeches'
Metallica - 'One'
Alice in Chains - 'Man in the Box' and 'Again'
Zeppelin - 'Black dog', 'Houses of the Holy', or 'Immigrant Song'

Nothing says a great song can't be fairly new, which why I included some great recent songs as well
