i guess when a church says its in the name of god it makes everything ok...I can think of things that churches/religions have done that are a hell of a lot worse than some of the shit they pulled...

That's the shit end about not being the hegemonic religion.

Scientology may seem a little odd to some, but I don't agree with it being labled a criminal organization because of the actions of a few members (I believe that less than a dozen have been charged with crimes). If that is the case, then it would stand to reason that all Catholics are pedophiles.

To an atheist, Scientology is no more far fetched than Christianity or Islam. The other two are just a duo of millenia older and therefore more accepted.

Personally I hate all religion because of their brain washing superior ideas, I dont dislike religious people as such, I am married to one but I think people would be much better if they wernt so damn superiour and judgemental!

There are only five religions. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, with their various sects. If I recall correctly, these groups comprise about 90% of existing religious views. Everything else is a cult, including Scientology. I don't understand how rational people can be drawn in to it. There's a reason the word "cult" carries such stigma.

In any case, my point is that we shouldn't refer to it as a religion. It doesn't do any justice to the more prominent belief structures that actually are religious in nature.

Um, there's a lot more religions than those, and they're not cults...
