by all accounts norwich are bringing 3'000 over....biggest away following for a league game for 30 years

this is a better result than at first is realised

norwich are a useful outfit

we fielded a starting line up of 11 which included 6 new players,3 of which didn't start they're pre-season till about 2 weeks ago due to not being with a club

one of the new players was a 19 year old icelandic kid......a midfielder,he seems to have it all,he can tackle,is aggressive,shows no fear and likes to get the ball under control and pass it......once he gets used to the frantic pace of this league he'll be a tremendous asset....remember the name.....olaf gunnersson

a comfortable victory over league 2 rivals sees us through to the 2nd round........goals from clinton morrison and robbie simpson(2) sealed the victory

the 2nd round draw is a mouth watering prospect against premiership opposition in newcastle united at the ricoh arena which brings back memories of the clubs cup victories last season on the road at premiership manchester united and blackburn rovers

its barnsley away today....a win would cement a winning start to the season

a 2- 1 victory for the sky blues.........job done

a game where both sides created chances with bristol taking theirs......the sky blues hitting the post and crossbar didn't help matters

it was felt that the referee lost control in parts due to some of the decisions he was making.......a clear cut penalty for a foul on clinton morrison was waved away culminating in morrison being shown a yellow card and manager chris coleman a red.....both for protesting the decision

it seems that theres still squad strengthening that needs doing

so its premiership newcastle united at home in the carling cup tomorrow night

so our squad which is suffering a lot of early season injuries had better get up,dust themselves off and get focused

the sky blues really did raise they're game against the premiership opposition.........after going 2 - 0 behind the boys adopted a never say die attitude culminating in a 93rd minute equaliser which sent the crowd into raptures

even when owen scored newcastles third after 7 minutes of extra time the sky blues still never layed down.....if it wasn't for the heriocs of visiting keeper shay given the sky blues might even have stolen it

elliot wards thundering header against the bar even had given rooted to the spot.......at the end the home side recieved a standing ovation from the fans for a performance which surely has set the standards for the rest of the season
