I would think it would be one cold place to try to keep warm in. Someone had a lot of time on their hands to build that.

we dont have winters as severe as america,add that to the reasoning that its probably got a log fire and chimney...put windows in and i reckon it could be pretty cosy in the winter

It was similar to the houses I saw on movies, during the Ancient time. It’s cool but isn’t those grasses and weeds a bit alarming?
