THE BONFIRE PRAYER

Remember remember, the Fifth of November
The Gunpowder, Treason and Plot
We know no reason why Gunpowder, Treason should ever be forgot
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, 'twas his intent
To blow up King and Parliment
With three score barrels of powder below
Poor old England, to overthrow
By God's providence he was catch't
With a dark lantern and burning match
Holler boys, Holler boys, ring boys ring
Holler boys, holler boys God save the King
What shall we do with him boys?
Shall we hang him?........NO!
Shall we drown him?.......NO!
Shall we burn him?........YES!




V for Vendetta was on and it bothered me that I never looked up to see why they chose the fifth of November for the movie because that's my birthday. I am kind of uneducated when it comes to history, especially non-American history.



I didn't realize Guy Fawkes was real.


Anyways this is the real poem which was a ten-issue comic book series written by Alan Moore, and then it became the movie.
