Such a shame but I'm not surprised. They ruined it with their silly revamp and dropping the longest standing, most loved cast members.

ITV axes The Bill after 27 years
The Bill will end this autumn following ITV's decision to drop the long-running police drama after 27 years.
"Times change, and so do the tastes of our audience," said Peter Fincham, the channel's director of television.
The move follows a major revamp that saw the drama relaunched as a weekly programme in a post-watershed slot.
ITV said it would invest the money it spent on the programme - first seen on the channel in 1983 - on new peak-time drama commissions.

Yay!

I never thought there were worse shows than reality tv - until I watched the Bill.

No doubt it will probably be replaced with yet another reality show where the entertainment is laughing at mentally disabled people.

i thought this was about healthcare:willy_nilly:

I was shocked to find it wasn't!!

The Bill got shite when they started personalising it, making it like a bloody soap opera. The good old 30 minutes of clever policing during the mid nineties was it's peak if you ask me.

I used to serve PC Garfield in the Tesco I worked in whilst at sixth form... my claim to Bill fame...
