Has anyone received one in the mail yet?

It's quite in-depth. From how many rooms in your house & your mortgage payment to where you work & how much you make. Under penalty of law - $5k.

:wtf:

I searched around a bit and saw there is a bill in Congress (HR 931) to make most of the questions voluntary. Gee? Ya think?

Whose business is it anyway? If they want to know that much about a person, the IRS has a lot of those answers already.

So, if you got one, are you completely filling it out and sending it back?

The Government wants to know :ninja

Pretty sure I completely forgot to fill out our census when it came round. I might have done it online but I just don't remember.

Not that I mind it, I should do it so that my descendants can look me up when I'm dead :p

Unlucky, when they catch up with you you're going to get a grand fine or possibly up to 6 months in jail.

I think if they really gave a fuck Peter, there wouldn't be so many people listing themselves as Jedi :p

I'm not doubting you saying that they could fine or jail someone for it, but I also don't think the police are scavenging my area for people who didn't return the form, somehow.

They dont need to, if they sent it out to you and you didn't sent it back, its extremely easy to know. If you haven't heard from them by now, you most likely did fill it in online.

I had no problem filling out the Census. This thing? They want to know way too much personal information. If it were vague that would be one thing. But this is pretty indepth... And, nosy as hell.

I have no problem telling them I have a mortgage. It's none of their business how much it is. Nor is how much I pay a year for all utilities or exactly where I work and exactly how much I make. What time do I go to work in the morning and how long it takes me to get home. Those are for all persons living in this house... I think not. I'm thinking of answering a lot of them w/MYOB!

I'm a white (yes they want to know that too), American citizen who speaks English, owns a home & works. That's all you need to know.

I can't believe some of the questions, Moonie. Sheesh! That really isn't anyone's business.... Govt. or otherwise.

I did fill out the short version Census. I was hoping for the long form at the time. :)
