Watching X Factor (well a bit of it) yesterday with my daughters got me to thinking.
There were at least 3 incidents where the people in the auditions were seriously mentally not "capable" individuals. They went on the show, tried, sucked, and were then belittled with several repeats of individuals raising their eyebrows in disdain at them.
The whole thing left me uncomfortable.
So what's your take when these shows do this to people that clearly have issues? Is it just....."well they have a right to try like anyone else and if it ends up being exploited then so be it". Or do you object to how ratings are taken in these cases.
