Hey wait a second. Ok, so Tom has brown eyes right? And Katie has brown or hazel I think. Yet this baby has some of the bluest eyes I have ever seen short of someone wearing colored contacts. Blue eyes is a recessive gene to brown eyes. Something doesn't quite add up here.

Well, the wee bairn is what, two or three months old now. But now that you mention it... it is rather long too.

I had blue eyes until I was 6 months old then they turned shit brown. Jacobs eyes were greenish blue, then turned green and is now greenish brown. (hazel) Me and Joe both have shit brown eyes. His sister heather has hazel looking eyes though, so I think he got her eyes.

I wish I was the one with tom cruise. He is HOT!

My dad has blue eyes, but my mother has brown. Supposedly, brown is stronger than blue, right? Well, my sister has blue eyes, but my eyes are GREEN. Neither of my parents have green eyes.

Eye colour has two genes (so far, there are probably more). Brown eyes can have either the brown-brown or brown-blue on the one gene, and green-green, green-blue or blue-blue on the other gene. Everyone has a combination of two of those genes (blue eyes is always blue-blue and blue-blue). If both parents have a brown-blue on the first gene, the child can have blue or green eyes (if the second is blue-green or blue-blue).

Science is still sketchy on eye colour, since this doesn't explain gray or hazel eyes etc. but it is perfectly possible for two brown eyed people to have children with different eye colours.
