Hi all, well I am a guy and at first thought about being a nurse. I almost have my General Associates, and have come across Surgical Tehchnologist. Which is pretty much assisting surgeons.

I'm wondering if you guys think this would be a good career with plenty of jobs?

I can continue at community college getting an associates in it. But I have always wanted to have a bachelor's just to have. I don't know if any universites have a major for this though, because only the associate's is needed :(

depends on where you live actually

What she said  And.....

1) depends also on what you really want in being a Surgical Tech vs Nursing.

2) what hospitals in your area require as a certificate to qualify as a Surgical tech.

Some hospitals use LVN/LPN ( Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse) as Surgical techs as it's cheaper than utilizing either an RN ( Associates or Bachelor's )

If you wanted to specialize in Surgical Nursing- then you have to have your Bachelor's . Afterwards, proceed either through Masterals or specialized training through University Hospitals who provide advanced certificates for your area of Specialty.

Btw :welcomesign:
