Straight answers about maddening safety rules

lol...no

My fear of flying has kept me from visiting my brother and that pisses me off....but I'm wondering if I could drive there....I heard that Montreal is a horror!!

For a start flying seems frightening but after two three trips you become used to it..

the bumps you get when the plane wobbles at the air gaps would make you scream!
It's better to fly with someone.....someone who's your heart-soul so in case you get
scared he holds you tight in his arms::)

Most flights take about 9 hours max, say coming from London to SeaTac, so I don't get this 16 hours without a break. Surely other flights that take longer, require some change overs so this 16 hours I think is purely fictional

Unless you opt for a transfer you are not allowed to go out of the airport lounge during stop overs...and that too is a pain in the neck!

I would take a direct 9 hour non-stop flight from Tokyo to Collachee.....and sleep half the time!

Flying in the planes deck from Tokyo to Seattle is indeed a luxury...you are treated by cute air hostesses like a prince!!:)

The point here is not the duration of flight, it's the dread of flying for the first time and
the convulsions you feel in the stomach when the plane suddenly falls and rises in the
air pockets or during turbulence!

Convulsions in the stomach? I have butterfly feelings in my stomach :24: But inside my head it is completely different :yuk

Mia was three months old and I was still breast feeding on the flight from LA to Sing. I traveled alone. The stewardesses were absolutely wonderful during the whole flight. They helped me out with Mia like they were her own aunties. You don't really get that kind of service in the states. I always enjoy my overseas flight. It's true, they DO treat you like royalty. At least I never had any bad experiences. :D

 I'd take a road trip over a flight any day. That's not to say I don't like flying. I just LOVE road trips.

I love road trips too. It's an adventure especially if driving with someone you can joke around and go places with and just have FUN :willy_nilly:

Do u think maybe what the pilot was saying is even during stop overs and they have connecting flights where it's unavoidable that they need to walk through gates to get to the next plane or something ( i am not sure if pilots only fly one plane all throughout their shift-juz in case it's a 16H shift schedule) that's when they can't take breaks as they are required to avoid delays as much as they can? IDK just guessing :dunno

Maybe that is what they are on about, but I think they would get paid overtime for that. But of the time they're not really doing much other than making sure that the plane is flying on course, fiddling the odd button or two, communicating with air traffic control. Truckers have to steer and really concentrate on the road, this really tires drivers a lot. I should know, because I was a courier. Concentrating on the road is paramount to the safety of yourself and others
