Gordon Ramsay had his show Kitchen Nightmares replaced on the Food Network with Robert Irvine and he calls it Restaurant: Impossible. What is it with you British, trying to tell us our food sucks and we can't cook?

Kitchen: Impossible is about renovating shithole establishments not telling you u cant cook for shit. You act like stealing concepts is a brand new phenomenon.

And to be fair, it wasn't "replaced" but it most surely was copied in a how-can-this-be-legal way.

Ramsay's show is on a different network, and is still on the air.

Been to U.K many times favorite places to eat are Italian and Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut primarily cause they have ICE! Avoid the pubs if looking for outstanding food. :p

As far as stealing premises, this happens all the time. Many U.K. shows end up remade for U.S. tv and some go East like Law and Order London or whatever it's called.

Too funny. My parents went to visit my sis in the UK and all they talked about when they came home was how frustrated they were that no one ever had ice to put in a beverage.

Dunno where they were drinking but I find you virtually have to assualt the bar staff to stop them putting ice in your drink. The latest trend seems to be putting ice in cider because that's how the Irish drink it, apparently, ffs!

This is not completely illustrative, but we were at a park once an purchased soft drinks from a vendor. I asked if he had ice. He said sure and uncovered a little bowl with about 10 cubes in it. He proceeded to plunk one cube in each drink. :)

I work with a Norwegian and he drinks all of his drinks without ice because the ice 'waters the drink down'. My counter is that you usually finish the drink before the ice melts. Could be cultural, just like room temp beer. ;)

It's so annoying that. Then they look at you like you're weird for not wanting ice in your drink...

I don't know where this ice fad comes from... most alcohol is meant to be drunk at room temp.
