Do you think we were better when we were oblivious to the worlds troubles? Being young and naive has it's advantages.

That is kind of like asking are you better when locked in you bedroom oblivious to your families troubles? The question(s) becomes are you really better? Do you care about your family or do you care only about your self? To you want to make a difference, maybe help solve some problems, or be oblivious to them? It's not a perfect analogy because the world is so much larger along with the problems, you may feel like your helpless to make a difference. But I would argue that understanding your environment as a rule would be better than being oblivious, because if you're happy it might be based on something imaginary versus real and because eventually something real is going to effect you adversely. Like the family happily fixing dinner in their house, not knowing about the F5 tornado bearing down on them.

You dont have to be young to be naive, i guess its a matter of what you want to involve yourself in to be honest. Im not a HUGE fan of the news in fact the countless stories of people killing people or people in general fucking up not to mention the fact the world is doomed due to the people who fucked it up in the first place. Its up to you if you choose to put yourself in the position of taking in too much of the down turn of the world.

I take in just enough current events to not look like a total tool.
