I was thinking about how the Americans have butchered our language and decided to list a few 'key' words they have spelt incorrectly. I have shown the correct version, then the American version and noted the letter that is wrong:

English ---------------> USA

pyjamas -------------> pajamas --------- Y
moustache ----------> mustache ------ O
colour ---------------> color ------------- U

mollusc ------------> mollusk, ---------- C
encyclopaedia ----> encyclopedia ---- A
bannister ----------> banister ---------- N
carburettor --------> carburetor ------- T

cosy -----------------> cozy -------------- S
sulphur -------------> sulfur ------------ P
enquiry -------------> inquiry ---------- E
fuelling -------------> fueling ---------- L
labelling ------------> labeling --------- L

Coincidence?

Other than trousers being called pants (which is what we call underwear) I have no problem, particularly withthe spelling ones

On the other hand, there are a dismal number of people who use the possessive your in place of the contraction for you are, or the possessive its in place of the contraction for it is. I've seen those sins committed by English speakers across the board. What happened to teaching spelling in school elsewhere? I know our schools have been gutted here, but I had no idea that was also the case abroad.

Egads those errors bug me. I know I've mistakenly made those errors with typos, but I do know the difference. There in place of their, bothers me too.
