For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

Although I assume this is tongue-in-cheek, I'll reinforce that man decided this, not God. :) And the holiday as we know it originated in the U.S. Happy Thanksgiving!

History.com:
In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn't until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

haha As I'm sure you know, the verse is actually saying it's okay to eat whatever you want as long as you give thanks for it. I wonder if that includes marijuana brownies?
