So fucked up.. 10 Year Old Killed Infant

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police say a 10-year-old girl has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a baby from Clinton.
Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway, who was three months old, died last month. At the time of her death, she was in the care of a babysitter at a home in Fairfield.

Police say a Fairfield babysitter called police on July 8 to report that the infant was not breathing, but police declined to say Thursday if the 10-year-old was the sitter.

The girl, whose name cannot be released, is in custody of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

On Wednesday, the Maine State Medical Examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.


Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the girl is the youngest person in Maine to be charged with manslaughter in at least 25 years. He said there was no arrest because the girl is already in custody of DHHS.


The girl is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on October 22.

They don't say but I was told on Facebook she was not the sitter and that the babysitter was in a different room by a family member.

The only thing we know is that a 10 year old is mentioned..and has been charged.
Is there an admission from the girl

Let me jump to the point dana...manslaughter is criminal negligence...how do you charge a child with criminal negligence...the 10 year old either committed murder or she didnt...any negligence would go to the parents or the sitter for not having proper supervision {I am not saying they should be charged..put the negligence points to them}

Do I 100% believe the person on Facebook? No... I actually don't like the Facebook family member. For all I know the 10 year old could of been left in charge. I was just passing what I heard which is all hearsay. This is the news section NOT the debate section. If you want to debate negligence go do it there.

I don't know the infant's mother or the infant; I know the family only by one man... They're from a town I grew up in 20 years ago and they still reside there. So this thread isn't personal and as I said I dislike the guy because I think he's a total douche. It was just odd that the infant was a relation. I'm not broken up about it like they were close to me or something. I fail to see the two jokes. Only Panaceas jab.... which was on the second page. But that is neither here nor there and has nothing to do with this. I'm not demeaning the family in anyway. There aren't enough facts given the story.

Your original post stated you knows the Foss's....thus it was my understanding you knew the family...and just not one man.
Thus it appeared as if you had actual relations to the family rather than one man you grew up with 20 years ago...is why I expressed concern.

Your post has straightened this up for me...you are merely interested in the death of this infant of the douche bag you grew up with...Understandable.
