Just a mini rant here.

I hate my poetry some times.. not the words I put on paper, but the ones stuck in my head.. a thought lingers for days, Then I go to bed.. im almost asleep and all the words just flow into place, I know I should get up and write them then, but I am so close to sleep, I should keep a recorder close by.. but I never think about it.

And yep you guessed it.. by the next morning, I have all the words still there, But I cant seem to put them back together... :mad

i know the feeling all to well hun...i now have a pen and paper right beside the bed for those moments...and if i cant see what im doing i still write...hoping im writing well enough to decipher in the am. ... or i lay there and repeat it over and over in my head like im trying to burn it into memory (which sad to say only works on a few short phrases)

Its the most annoying thing in the world when you know excatally how to put it...and then when you get a chance to...not being able to remember

could not poetry be a puzzle?

one with many different pieces?

words?

that once formed together?

fashion some sort of concept?

poetry?

(unless you hate puzzles... :D)

I also had the same problem until I opted for a dictation recorder. I can leave it on my bedside table and don't have to scrabble around during the night for my pen and notepad.

It's handy to throw in my handbag as well when I go out...never know when the creative bug will strike.

I sometimes wish I would remember to keep a pen and notebook by my bedside too. I have a hard time recalling my dreams and I know that if I would write them down as soon as I wake up from them that it would help. I know for a fact that I have had a few dreams that could inspire one hell of a scary movie! I love having nightmares! Is that weird?

Yes

lol.. ok not really, Nightmares happen for a reason too.. and sometimes the intensity of them can be just as good for you as the most relaxing dream.
