Anyone have the Galaxy Aviator? I like it aside from the unnecessary preinstalled apps. The screen is bigger than my old Android and it's less clunky due to no keyboard

I almost got one a few months ago..but was talked out of it.
Low specs...IJS
If you have grace period take it back and get something else.
I did like the hard keys at the bottom though on the aviator.
Go with at least ICS for the operating system if you take it back.
Go with a new phone...you will be stuck with it for a while...so just as well get the latest.
My choices were limited during my last purchase {about 6 months ago}...so I am stuck with a 4.3 inch screen but I do have a gig of ram and a dual core processor.
If I was going to purchase today I would get the Samsung Note or note2...huge screen and great specs ...while the initial cost is higher...if you divide that by 24 months its not that bad.

Don't have one. I'm a Razr user. However, I keep up with the cell phone industry and tech junk. I checked this phone out, and the main complaint that is the same across the board is that it locks up then restarts on its own when under any type of multi-function load. Some people complain of dropped calls and low volume, but with you being in one of their 4G areas, it shouldn't be a problem. Hope it works out for ya!

I waited until I found a good deal on an iPhone and finally went for it. 32G iPhone 4 for $99.99. I love it!!!

I have been curious about the Samsung Galaxy Note, but that thing is HUGE!!! I haven't heard of the one you got, but I hope it works out for you. Free phones are free for a reason.

The Aviator is a little bigger than my old Merge but not by much. I've seen people with cellphones almost as big as the iPad Mini (ok I kid but they're ridiculous....)

ICS...ice cream sandwich.
The latest is jelly bean I believe.
And justs because its free...doesnt make it a value.
Look at your monthly bill...you are paying for it anyway by having a contract.
Reboots suck
I dont have em on my Motorola.
Reception is great as well
Easy to hear on..its clear

Yep, new one is jellybean. You're lucky if you don't have trouble w/ your Motorola. Most Motorola phones I have had worked great for about 8 months and then took a dump and sucked from there on out w/ random restarts and other odd problems.

It's got some awesome features, but I wanted my iPhone. :tooth Plus it's too big for my tastes. LMFAO...first time I've ever said THAT!!!

Not my 1 1/4 year old Razr. No issues. Didn't have any issues w/ my X after 1 1/2 years, either. I think it's the people that treat their phones like shit and don't take care of them, that see the issues.

I'm not an iPhone fanboy like most. I agree that they've got a decent platform they run on, but with a limited memory (I've got 18gb of music on my phone), and the inability to personalize/customize the layout of the phone...I just couldn't do it. Yes, I did have one for about a week. So it's from personal experience w/ one that I have my opinions based off of. My girlfriend and her entire family has them. It's a personal preference thing to most, and i've just never been a fan of them.

I love the S3 commercials where they stand in line for the iPhone to save a spot for his parents. Haha!

I had my last Motorola over 3 years Rokr,..still have it
Loved it...but it was time to move up to be more surfing friendly....the rokr was very phone friendly for using while driving.

I kind of have to have one anyway as I go through low reception areas

I'm prob the only one not nutting over an iPhone... I really don't see the hype.
You are not alone...I opted for android myself
Installed the adw launcher later and am very happy with navigation etc.
Besides Iphones are not keeping up in screen size

I drop mine fairly often, I admit, but aside from that the only thing I do to my phones is use them excessively for texting. :24: Ermm, okay, maybe I should admit to having dropped x2 phones in water. :24: BUT they were having issues BEFORE that, dammit!!!

It's awesome, IJS :p I've wanted one for years, though, so I'm just over the moon to finally have it.

They go up to 64GB, Bobby Stupidface. :p

I've never been able to keep a Motorola for more than the 2 year contract. Randomly, my sound will stop working or it will shut off for no reason. Every Motorola I've had has started off fine and then, w/in a year, gone to crap in some manner.

Besides Iphones are not keeping up in screen size

I hear a lot of people say that, but how big of a screen do you need??? I mean, the screen is huge for me...I don't need it any bigger. :dunno I guess it comes down to personal preference, really.
