small time dealers - no jail (right or wrong)

small time dealers - no jail

the sentencing council is thinking,
changes to the law of dealing,
i am trying to look at both sides,
but mixed up i am feeling.
no jail if you are caught,
that's with up to 50 grams of smack,
that's allot of money you can make,
and you don't even need to walk around with it in your crack.
up to 200 people this can kill,
why is there no attempted murder jury,
is it giving the green light,
should the community have fury.
in-between your deals,
community service is no chore,
this is called networking,
more clientele you can score.
its opened up the debate,
legalise and decriminalise and rid the black market trade,
otherwise dealers will always exist,
and there actions to the community will always invade.

(this debate was on the wrightstuff this morning - the joe can not help but think the only way left is to leagalise everything. do you have any better solution or should we leave the law as it is as its working very well ? )

While I don't find dealers to be very savoury people, and I do know a few, I would hardly call them murderers. If there were no demand for their product then they wouldn't sell it. They play a part, but they don't exactly hold people down and inject them in the eyeballs, and they definitely don't want their customers to die because that'd mean an end to their business

I think even if we tried to legalise the harder stuff, the government approved version is still going to spawn illegal versions, because there will always be someone who wants a harder kick. That's not to say I don't think it should happen - making these things illegal doesn't seem to deter anyone, we might as well make some money out of it.

And if community service is networking for dealers, what do you think jail would be?

What kills people in drugs is impurity, 100% heroin will give someone the hardest hit they ever had, and it's statistically safer. It's no coincidence that most heroin related deaths occured in the 60's-70's when heroin was about 20-40% pure. (http://www.exchangesupplies.org/article_bad_heroin.php)
So if the government did legalise drugs, they'd have to make sure everything was 100% pure, not laced with rat poison, baby powder, arsnic or whatever else etc etc...

It's ironic in a way, but not surprising. Doctors have been prescribing pure heroin and its derivatives for centuries.

Of course they could always legalise drugs, pumping more money into the economy and tax revenue, saving money on prosecuting and jailing people for drug offenses and stopping nasty dealers selling them to children and impure stuff with loads of dangerous shit in it. Of course thats too much like common sense for most politicians
