Cleaning 'broke inmate's rights'
A convicted burglar claimed his human rights were breached because he had to empty toilet pots in a Suffolk prison.
Daniel Cornell, of Colchester, Essex, is seeking damages for distress suffered while having to "slop out" at Blundeston Prison, near Lowestoft.
Cornell, in his 30s, who was given a three-and-a-half year term for a series of burglaries in 2004, is taking legal action against the prison authorities.
The Ministry of Justice said it could not comment on individual cases.
Campaign group The Prison Reform Trust said it was not aware that "slopping out" was still common in UK prisons.
I call bullshit seeing that prisons in the UK stopped this and installed toilets over 10 years ago, hope he ends up losing and with a hefty legal bill for this. Then again, maybe not, he might go burglaring again to pay for it.:smiley24:
