Skype

I'm curious if any of you have skype or pay for vonage service. I'm curious about the quality cuz I'm debating on setting up skype here in my apartment since I can get some of the equipment to go to an actual phone hella cheap at work.

Any suggestions?

everyone that I know h¡who has it loves it. I wanted to get it as well.
My boyfriend uses it to speak with Czechs at work.

I have used skype for a while, the free service, for VOIP. It is actually very clear. We are essentially a thrid world country, so Skype is actually clearer than our phone lines.

I use Skype a lot and its great, the ability to call rellies in Oz and it not cost me a penny is great, Ive also used SkypeOut the VOIP to land line feature and thats great as well would recomend it to anyone

so those of you who are not sure what we're talking about, Skype is like vonage, however it's a free service at this time. It allows you to make phone calls essentially to people via your PC and there is hardware out there that allows you to have a physical telephone work for your skype as well so your not needing a headset or microphone for your computer to make it work.

Quality is on par with that of regular land lines.

I've been around vonage setups, and my company purchases and installs ESI phone systems, which have IP phones.

As long as the internet isn't SUPER busy, quality is astounding.
