A head on collision involving a daycare van, with kids on board, slowed traffic along Highway 367 Friday afternoon. Police say it’s possible the driver of the other vehicle was intoxicated. Three children were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. There were no major injuries.
Officers say the daycare van was carrying six children and was heading north on Arch street when a gold Chevy Impala crossed the center line and hit the daycare van.
The driver of the Impala was injured and taken to a local hospital. Officers are investigating the possibility he may have been under the influence. The driver of the daycare van said he tried to pull over to avoid the crash, but the other vehicle still hit the van, raising it off of the ground.
