What's all this focus on the U.S.? Lets talk about Singapore! I'm writing my Congressman today and suggest to straighten out our problems in the U.S. all we need to do is enact Singapore-style democracy. I could get used to not questioning authori-tay...

The tell-tell sign of which is which is actually the world biggest salary demanded by the government for running one of the world's smallest country. The citizens have no say about the matter and have no alternative either.

Singapore: Text Book Example of Repressive State But We're Secure:(Singapore) - Women migrant domestic workers in Singapore suffer grave abuses including physical and sexual violence, food deprivation, and confinement in the workplace, said Human Rights Watch in a new report released today.
"Singapore remains the textbook example of a politically repressive state," said Phil Robertson, deputy Asia director at Human Rights Watch. "Individuals who want to criticize or challenge the ruling party's hold on power can expect to face a life of harassment, lawsuits, and even prison."

In October 2007 Singapore’s parliament rejected a proposal to repeal law 377A, which bans private and consensual sexual relations between men. Although prosecutions have been rare, those found in violation of law 377A can be jailed for up to two years on charges of “gross indecency.”
