Traditional exams test memory under pressure, while continuous assessment measures ongoing performance. Which system better reflects real learning? Do exams still have value, or should education move toward project-based evaluation?
In our schools, there is already continuous assessment. They don't just judge based on how students write in exams but they are also assessing students for other activities. I do not think replacing exams will be a good decision.
Replacing exams with continuous assessment can give a fuller picture of student learning, capturing participation, projects, and skills over time. It reduces stress and encourages consistent effort. However, exams test knowledge under pressure, so a hybrid approach often works best for fairness and evaluation.
