Hollywood thinks it's OK as long as the individual still has retains some love among his/her fans. Be that is it may, it's those of use who buy tickets that should determine what we get in a movie [because this ain't some freebie we'll be getting]. So guys, would you fork out some money to watch an action movie in which some granny is kicking ass?

Yeah, Red is a good example of an action movie with old people. Indiana Jones 4, despite not being as good, was ruined for other reasons other than Harrison Ford's age. If the actors are talented, able to perform their stunts or have convincing doubles, I don't see why not.

But it beats the logic of plausibility. It's easier to believe that a young person of either sex is able to perform some stunt [even though most can't] than an old person pulling it off with aplomb. For me, the entire Expendables Franchise with it's cast of aging stars didn't quite hit the mark. I watched the first two and had enough.

I see no problem in watching a older actor or actress perform in a action movie. Having something like that is fresh and new from the typically "awesome young hero". To see a older character save the day is something cool for me to watch.
