I care because the Catholic Church is if I am not mistaken the larger corporation in the world

The Catholics are supposed to treat what the Pope says without question

The Catholic Church seems to get away with stuff they should be held accountable

I want as an Atheist the Catholic Church to enter the modern age and also to hold accountable those Priests who were monsters

None of those will happen as long as the leaders of the church keep choosing dinosaurs who live in the past and whitewash its sins.

Atheists will find a way to find fault in the new Pope besides challenging Catholicism plus Bible as a whole.

Sins?? Odd choice of words. ;)

maybe I should have been clearer and stated instead...

"recent whitewashing the sins of those who were pedophile priests"

I was not meaning to refer to any of the other things the church did in the long ago past as most religions were intolerant tyrants at one time or another for the most part.

on a side note I watched the first episode of The Bible on the History Channel

I liked it. It made me more informed about what is in the bible.

Does not change my perspective on the truths in The Bible but gave me a reference I would not have as there is no way I could sit thru reading The Bible.

:D Your point was clear. I was teasing you about using the term "sin".

You bet I find fault with the Pope if he deserves it. Ratzenberger had his fingers deep in the cover up of the molestations. And for those who suffered at the hands of the mosters who molested I hope the Church would come clean.

Oh and for the record there were more Christians over the ages who challenged Catholicism than there were Atheists.

Why should ANYONE care who gets elected pope? Dont we have better things to worry about like? where is Waldo? or where in the world is Carmen San Diego? who killed Roger Rabbit?

I have my own views on the church that would probably upset some people so ill just keep them to myself :)

The Catholic church, the one based in Rome reminds me of the GOP, dominated by old guys, behind the times, in the process of imploding. Sins is a very appropriate word for their pedophile cover ups over the last 40 years. I imagine if there is a God like the Christians imagine him to be, he'd have an extended weenie roast going on... get it? :p
