Ok, so where i live, we have a really old, shitty computer, it works ok, but uses windows 98 second edition. I tried to hook a web cam up to it today, but there are files i need off the windows 98 disk. well, the woman next door actually had one, but it turns out i cant just use the windows 98 disk, but the windows 98 second edition disc.
Is there any way i can bypass this? or is there something i can download that will allow me to install the hardware. i can install the software just fine, but its the hardware i cant get installed.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

what kind of web cam?

you can always download and burn a win98SE disk

some cheap philips branded one. ICATCH (VI) computer camera, i think it is. burning a disk sounds like a good idea...

Does it need driver's?

If so you could quite possibly google search the brand and may come up with the software or driver's needed for it. I used to have one a long time ago. and lost all I needed for it and found the stuff online, and it works!

so i downloaded the whole win98se disk file, but cant burn it on this computer, i dont think (old). i tried to install it again, but when it asked for the disk or file again, i just directed it to the new download, but the same error came up, asking for the disk. so now, i guess i really have to find one of those disks, does anyone out there have one that they dont need anymore? i'll pay for postage! lol

lol, thats a really sweet idea . but i have a feeling its not the webcam, but the stupid computer needing that disk.

search for what it is looking for and see if it is on there first, point to that directory when it asks?

I'm using window98se now, i use it for gaming, and internet. Its more stable then xp in my computer. My guess, you dont know how to use it correctly.

I have a burned copy of windows 98 second edition that i do not need.
I can send it to you if you want. i wrote the regitsration key inside the case
so you have it if you need it. just tell me where to send the disk to. if you have any other questions just ask me.
