I will be investing in a external hard soon. I'm tired of deleting stuff off my comp to make room anymore! UGH

I only paid 59.00 for a 320GB. I thought about a 500 GB but it was $79 and I didn't feel like spending the extra money.

I prefer Western Digital external HD over Seagate. If you do wind up getting a WD HD and something goes wrong with it Western Digital will usually replace it with a larger HD.

is that one of their solid state drives? I've heard very good things about them.

I have a LaCie myself, always been pretty reliable. The last Seagate I bought was USB, and I prefer FireWire as it's much faster.

I used to like Seagate, just don't anymore because of lost photos that might take hundreds of pounds to recover {~.~}

my windows machine came with a firewire port. i dont own anything that uses it though

yeah they're really only used for highend video or for HD's - they're great for transfering massive amounts of data quickly. I just use mine for my external HD.

wait my laptop has a mystery port/plug in i dun no wtf its used for

if it looks like this, it's a FireWire 400 port:
