can society improve without the scientific method? did the method exist before it was classified and arranged? what other forms of human reality can there be if we abandoned the method...(besides Anarchy, if any)?

yea sure, society could improve without science. Technology could not. Some societys today that avoid technology and science could, arguably, be better than.

The "Scientific Method" is simply common sense put to paper in order to keep us focused. We all apply it in every day living. If it were done away with, humanity would essentially grind to a halt.

Things as simple as "I feel hungry. Last time I felt this, I ate and it felt better. I should eat now to feel better again." are technically scientific method. Be hard to have Billions of people alive on the planet that could't put that together. ;)

if the scientific method was gone, the human race would stagnate. The human race progresses due to reason and rationality which are at the heart of the scientific method.

really? I think there were a lot of things "better" before the explosions of technological advances of the last 200 years.

I meant that an improvement in society would also be called an advancement.

But the question is who's definition of "better" are you using?

All the scientific method is, is the basic thought process of humans put on paper. We observe and then make conclusions. Without the "scientific method", we would still do the same thing.
