Ever feel this way ? Care to admit to a smile when you read of someone faring poorly?

I suppose there can be many degrees, ranging from a simple delight in someone embarrassing themselves to feeling good about a more serious misfortune, even injury.

I will admit to feeling vindicated when someone i have argued with is forced to back down from their hitherto rock solid position and admit they were wrong, i dont need an apology but i kind of get a feeling of vindication when they publically get egg on their face

On the other hand i could never feel good about injury or pain.

What does this say about us as supposedly mature, evolved members of society when we can allow ourselves pleasure from even the smallest misfortune

those annoying girls on facebook who post how great their husband and/or boyfriend is several times a day really get on my nerves.

So I can't help but crack a smile when it inevitabley breaks down and they become a gibbering mess

I find real pleasure in that too.

Especially if they get dumped on facebook after announcing their 1 month, 2 week and 5 day anniversary wich is lyk 4ever mi bby boo. luv u <3

If they are a real bad dude or dudette, I'm happy as all out, feel vindicated. If they are just an ordinary person but I don't like them, I feel initially glad, then guilt rears its head and I feel guilty. It's no fun having a conscience that can rear its head easily ;)

I think it's funny when I see someone doing something stupid and it blows up in their face ... so long as they're not injured. I don't understand the mentality of getting off on a celebrity or rich person taking a great fall. It only irritates me to see news stories of Brittany or those other Disney kids, or Tiger & other sports guys, day after day, when it's not news so much as a feeding frenzy of people having orgasms because they were brought low.

I see that shit on a local level every day in my school's neighborhood. Anybody that dares try to pull themselves out of poverty (except by way of selling drugs) instantly becomes the target of suspicion and gossip, and people feel better about themselves when something bad happens. It's a worse poison than any government oppression or racism.
