Dodge, you're banned from this thread. I know your opinion. ;)

Anyway, I loved the first Saw. Brilliant, fresh, and innovative.

Saw II was alright. Not as good as the first, but decent.

Saw III I thought was a complete waste of 2 hours.

Since they've just gone downhill, I'm worried about wanting to kill myself for watching Saw IV. But I feel obligated to watch it since I've seen all the other ones.

So, should I bother watching it or not?

Actually, I haven't voted. I just saw this thread :D

I'll try to say this as unbiased towards the franchise as I can, but SAW IV was good. It was a step down from SAW III(I really don't see why so many people hated it. I think it was the best of all four), but still good. A lot of people don't like it because they go out and see it without seeing the first three, or they go and make-out during the movie, knowing that it's a SAW movie, and therefore expecting everything to be explained to them at the end.

If you actually pay attention to the movie, and watch it all the way through, it's a pretty good movie. But as I said, it was nowhere near as good(For me that is) as SAW III was.

Some people didn't like it because a lot of stuff was cut because of the MPAA. The glass box was supposed to be the most vicious, gruesome trap so far, but the MPAA didn't like it, and Darren simply cut it. Also, Darren said some things, like explanations of why Obi was in the flashback in SAW III, and the history behind the puzzle pieces that Jigsaw cuts out of his victims would be explained, but they weren't.

Overall, I think it was good, but the franchise didn't desperately need it(If you've seen SAW III and SAW IV, you'll understand why). It didn't actually add anything new, other than giving us a bit more explanation to some of the things we were given in SAW III, as well as new characters.

Also, if you're a big fan of the seizure-flashbacks of the movie's events, don't see this one. They don't have one.
